As a lot of you already know, I’m not only a sports handicapper, but a horse handicapper as well. And, I felt completely compelled to write about the fool that smacked-down 70k to win; on a morning line 4-5 shot who clearly raced like a “short horse”, but was a hard-trying second. This brings me to my point…. This individual who obviously has more money than brains, turned that 4-5er (Moon De French, was the horse’s name) into a 1-5 shot as the gate sprung!

Now, whether or not it was the owner of the horse, and 70k is a mere drop in the proverbial bucket. Or, if it was simply a big money California horseplayer (who might also be a clocker), it was completely idiotic to wager that kind of money, in a 5-horse field, in in which the conditions read as follows: FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON $10,000 TWICE OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING, OR STARTER OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON THREE RACES OR CLAIMING PRICE $62,500. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 124 lbs. Non-winners of two races since May 2 Allowed 2 lbs. A race since then Allowed 4 lbs. (Maiden races and Claiming races for $50,000 or less not considered). Purse $62,000.00. Seriously, this guy is/was a total idiot to wager that much on that kind of stock!

He could have very, very easily made the same wager on Rachel Alexandra, and instead of losing 70k, he would have made 35k!!!!!! RA paid 3.00 to win, in The Haskell, and only won by 7 or 8 lengths!!! You Sir (whomever you might be), deserved this verbal lashing! I hope that this little article finds you. Because, if I had a client with your means, I could make that person a cool million…JUST WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE UPCOMING FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!
